Akua Mind Body Sacramento offers outpatient dual diagnosis treatment for adults dealing with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, or both occurring together. Mental health conditions treated at our Sacramento facility include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.
Our Sacramento treatment program combines evidence-based clinical therapies with holistic approaches to support the whole person. Psychotherapy options include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care. Medication management is available and overseen by our medical director for conditions where pharmacological support is clinically appropriate. Individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy are all offered, providing multiple avenues of support throughout the recovery process.

Outpatient & Partial Hospitalization Options for Sacramento ResidentsÂ
Many Sacramento-area residents need high-quality care but can’t leave their jobs, families, or communities for
residential treatment. Akua Mind Body offers two structured outpatient options that provide intensive clinical
support while allowing you to sleep at home:
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) — Sacramento Area
Our PHP is designed for clients who need more support than traditional outpatient but don’t require 24/7
residential care. PHP typically involves 5–6 hours of structured programming per day, 5 days per week, and
includes individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric support, and case management.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — Sacramento Area
IOP offers a step down from PHP or an alternative to residential treatment for those with strong home support
systems. Clients typically attend programming 3–4 days per week for 3–4 hours per session — a schedule
designed to integrate with work, school, and family life.
Virtual IOP — Available Statewide
Can’t make it to a physical location? Akua’s telehealth IOP delivers the same evidence-based clinical content
via secure video — fully HIPAA-compliant and available to online virtual IOP for California residents anywhere in the state.
