Figuring out how to come up with the funds to pay for substance abuse treatment is a very daunting task. The burden can fall on the affected individual as well as people associated with the individual like family and friends of the addict. Our staff at AKUA is here to show you every option available in order to make treatment a reality.
There are three different routes individuals can take to pay for treatment. The first option is always private pay. By paying out of pocket, someone doesn’t have to go through other sources to be able to be approved for rehab. It poses the least amount of chances for being denied treatment based on the cost. The second option is applying for scholarships we have available thanks to our many sponsors and generous donations. This is an option we cannot guarantee to everyone because of the limited funds we are able to give away. The final option is working with your insurance provider to figure out what costs are covered by your policy. This could determine whether your entire treatment can be paid for, or if you are only able to receive partial financial assistance.

If your USAMCO insurance policy covers substance abuse treatment, it will also include mental health services. Many clients have co-occurring disorders, mental health, and substance addiction issues, called a dual diagnosis. With our dual diagnosis treatment program, both issues can be supported together.
Mental illness affects millions of Americans and is common among those with substance abuse issues. Insurance providers are legally required to cover mental health services. In many cases, mental health problems can co-occur with substance use, so it is important to address mental health concerns if you are seeking care for substance misuse and addiction.

Usually, but not always, care from out-of-network providers will increase your out-of-pocket expenses.
Some plans will cover portions of out-of-network services after a deductible or coinsurance has been met while others may not cover any such services.
Pre-certification may be required for out-of-network treatment options. USAMCO will review the request against nationally recognized guidelines.
For cases requiring pre-certification, USAMCO will determine the services covered on the plan. Call the number on the back of your insurance card to discuss treatment options available to you.
